Are supplements dangerous?

0 0

Our bodies need a specific amount of healthy vitamins a day to reach optimal performance. Surprisingly, even though only a small amount is needed, a smaller amount is actually put into our bodies. Some people try supplementing deficiencies with capsules, powders, etc. But do you know where those supplements come from? Are they absorbed into your body efficiently? Are they doing more harm than previously advertised ‘good’? Read here for more information about the proper supplements our bodies need:

What is the difference between natural and synthetic nutrients?

When comparing synthetic to natural you have to think about where the product derives from. When you find a natural product you like, the ingredients should include whole foods only. It shouldn’t be created with ingredients you can’t pronounce; like L-5-MTHF, titanium dioxide, and sodium benzoate. To sum it up, natural supplements are more efficient because they absorb into your body better. Synthetic supplements are made to duplicate that with a couple of factory-made ingredients. It is unclear how synthetic nutrients are absorbed and used in the body.

What to avoid:

Artificially made vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, and amino acids. That is being made with factory-made synthetics to mimic natural benefits. When buying supplements from stores like Walmart and target, try to read the label on the bottle to see where it was made. Avoid supplements made in China, because the regulations are more relaxed. This means dangerous ingredients like kava, chromium, bitter orange, and L-tryptophan can be included. These ingredients affect the liver, brain, heart, and more. These are very toxic to the body and can cause long-term damage if used over an extended period of time.

How can you get proper supplements?

You can get properly sourced vitamins through a balanced diet. Although many people would like to swallow a bunch of supplements, you have to focus on what you’re putting into your body. A supplement is only as good as your gut health. If you eat bad 6 out of the 7 days and take vitamins on Sunday you cant expect the supplements to do an efficient job. Take a couple of minutes to look into where your potential supplement is being sourced from, what could be a synergy supplement to go with it, is it from a mass-produced factory, is it from an MLM, and what is the best form of this supplement? Some supplements are best in a powdered form. But you can get supplements in a gummy, tincture, liquid, and capsule form. Avoid buying supplements that come from mass-producing factories because they aim to sell in bulk despite the quality.
